ただ「Surfaceはやめません」といっても説得力がないと考えたのか、Hall氏の投稿は、「Surface Pro 3はWindows 10にアップグレードできる」「Surface Pro 3の周辺機器の互換性は維持される」という異例のフライング情報公開を行っています。
（１）Windows 10もOK！

Surface Pro 3がWindows 10にアップグレードできることは容易に想像できましたが、できるこ￥とが公約されたのは大きな安心感です（OEMメーカー製マシンは直前までわからないことが多い）

記事の内容が、全社的方針を示すものであることを明示する目的があるのでしょう。
結論：Surfaceは存続する。少なくともProは確実に
というわけで、Surface Pro 3のラインは存続が確実になりました。
まあ、企業顧客に販売する以上、簡単に撤退していたらビジネスにならないというのはその通りなのでしょう。
しかし、コンシューマー向けのラインについては何も触れられていないこの公式見解。その「不在」が気になってしまいます。この点については別記事で。
